Combo Nam Ha trek + Kayak
Highlight: This 2 day trip, we offer 1 day trek along the beautiful forests and kayaking, with difficulty levels ranging from easy to near-impossible. Experience the beauty of jungle life. Live in a remote village hidden in the heart of NamHa National Protected Area, left in the fabrics of time. Feel the slow & tranquil lifestyle of these amazing minority groups.
Day 1 : LuangNamTha – Ban ThaSae – Jungle Treks – Ban NaLan(khmuvillage)
We depart from the Nature Life Eco-Tours office at 9:00’am by a tuk-tuk ride to the trail in Namha NPA. The hike leads you across hills and valleys of dense primary rainforest. On the way our guides will stop to identify various plants and explain how they are used by the local indigenous people including a few samples to try. For lunch we stop for a delicious and authentic Lao-style jungle picnic. Watch and learn as our guides prepare the meal using the fresh supplies and some natural resources of the jungle cooked and served in bamboo or banana leaf. Continue, the trek onwards until upon reaching a high ridge with enchanting views across hills and valleys we see before us, nestled deep in the heart of NamHa NPA, is the Khmu village of Ban NaLan or Ban Nam Ha, where we stay the night and enjoy rice wine (probably the best of the region) For dinner, our Khmu host family will cook in their customary style and serve the food with some traditional alcoholic drinks the local Lao alcohol distillery, with local family in their home.
Day 2 : Ban NaLan Neua-Tai- Ban Nam Koi- Ban Houyleuat – Luang Namtha
After breakfast we meet up at the riverside behind the village and basic instructions on kayaking or rafting techniques and safety, we kayak down the Nam Ha River, which flows through the Nam Ha National Protected Area. Here monkeys, kingfisher are often heard so if we remain quiet in order to not scare them, we may be able to catch a glimpse of these amazing creatures in their natural habitat. And visit another charming Khmu tribe at Ban NaLan Tai and Lentan tribe at Ban Nam Goy, then start paddling along the stunning riverside, enjoy floating down the river, taking on rapids and beholding the amazing wilderness of the Namha National Park on your right-hand side. On the way down the river, we stop visiting a live in a remote village charming Khmu tribe and Lentan tribe to learn bamboo paper making, cotton-weaving, handicrafts, culture and lifestyle, which sits on the banks of the river. The river features several sections of swift rapids before arriving where the Nam Ha and NamTha Rivers meet Continuing onwards to Ban Houay Leuat, where we will take a Tuk tuk back to town on off-roads.

What to prepare on the trip:
- Bring at least 2-3 liters of water per day. For your first day, the tour operator will provide around 2 water bottles. Please, keep always the empty bottle so you can refill the next day
- A good pair of shoes for walking
- A hat or cap
- Sunglasses
- Mosquito repellent/Insect repellent
- Sunscreen
- Toilet paper
- Raincoat (in rainy season, June-Sep)
- Pocket money etc.
- Please wear lifejacket and helmet for kayaking (Company will provide you all equiptment)
